The Float: Four Pieces, All the Same Length
The Float is four ambient pieces that do exactly what the title promises — weightlessness, suspension, no floor underneath. What makes it more than a mood record is the structure.
The Constraint
“float one,” “float two,” and “float three” each run 9:39. Not approximately — exactly. “float four” runs 9:42, three seconds longer, which is either a deliberate wobble at the end or the one place the constraint gave way.
Naming the tracks one through four rather than giving them titles is the same decision made twice: this is a set of variations, not four separate ideas. You are meant to hear them as one 38-minute object with three seams in it.

Where It Fits
Released November 1, 2025, a month after minute — which runs the identical experiment at a different scale, eight tracks of 6:53 apiece. The two records are best understood as a pair. A month after The Float came this is new, which abandoned the constraint entirely.
