JWM, Pt. 1: A New Persona in Cinematic Noir

After a quiet spring, JWM arrived on May 29, 2026 as a brand new persona with a fully formed identity. JWM is short for John Wick Mode — a straight tribute to the John Wick films and the extraordinary score work behind them. JWM, Pt. 1 is ten cinematic noir instrumentals: dark jazz, atmospheric, entirely instrumental, and about as far from ambient drone as this catalog gets.

A debut collection of ten cinematic noir instrumentals, drawing from the visual language of hardboiled fiction and rain-slicked streets - each track a scene, each arrangement a shadow falling across the page.

Scenes, Not Soundscapes

The structural difference from everything else here is the running time. Not one track breaks five minutes; the average sits around three. These are scenes - written to start, do one thing, and end, the way cues in a film do.

The titling follows the same logic. "The Continental," "Red In The Ledger," "Excommunicado," "Blood Oath," "Marker Called" - the vocabulary of markers, coins, and consequences, lifted straight from the films. "Bullet Ballet" at 3:44 is the longest and most kinetic piece, "Shadow Steps" at 4:34 the most patient, and closer "Through the Neon Glow" ends the record on its shortest track.

A Sixth Persona

JWM brought the Primary Field Recording Device roster to six: musical nature, Torchwood Archive, Grit & Grain, Garage of Evil, Skoshie & Friends, and now JWM. The "Pt. 1" in the title is not decorative - it implies more to come.
