Compilation Appearances: The DDR X-Series and the Drone Download Project

Alongside its own catalog, musical nature has appeared on a run of various-artists compilations — principally the DDR X-Series curated by Dark Duck Records, and the annual Drone Download Project.

These are collected here in one place rather than given individual posts, because they are appearances rather than releases: musical nature contributes a piece, the rest of the record belongs to other artists, and the compilations carry no per-artist release date of their own.

The DDR X-Series

Dark Duck Records’ long-running X-Series compilations gather ambient, experimental, and drone artists a volume at a time. musical nature appears across seven volumes — 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 9x, 10x, and 11x — with Volume 10 marking a decade of the series.

The Drone Download Project

An annual compilation built entirely around drone music, gathering artists from around the world each year. musical nature appears on Year 5, alongside a large roster of experimental ambient and drone contributors.
